my computer is designed for xp, but vista capable.
I bought my laptop from best buy before Christmas. am i supposed to get vista by mail for free?

There's no such thing as Windows XP Office by the way, you've just made that up.

xp office has more to offer then vista basic. it all depends what u would like to do. vista can take a portable usb storage card and turn it into ram. vista can do alot more then xp but xp has more to offer. but i would consult with a tech and makesure ur computer will be able to with stand vista because it may have vista capabilty but it may just be able to hold some of vista features. if ur computer is not right for vista itll be slower then molasses.

Vista is not a free upgrade unless specified with purchase. Contact BestBuy.
