'Pre' and 'ante' are interchangeable but pre is more colloquial, so used more often (there is probably a more accurate definition of usage based on the Greek/Latin derivation)

'Intra' refers to inside (eg intranet is within one building),' inter' refers to between (eg internet is a connection between computers in different places).

Kitty above is correct, other than the fact we use 'antenatal' in the UK

Opposite Of Post

they mean the same except they really arent interchangeable. for example, you say antebellum for the period before the civil war, but you wouldn't say prebellum.

inter and intra is easy if you think of interstate highway. Interstate means between all the states, so internet means communication between the different sites on the net. Intra-net means "inside" an organization or specific network. if you worked at xyz corp, and the internet was down you wouldn't be able to go to Yahoo, but if their intranet was ok, you could surf over to Human Resources or Computer Support and check out their pages

you can't interchange pre with ante. Pre is the opposite of post.
inter means from one to another, and intra means within one.

Pre is closest to being the opposite of post. Inter means between and intra means within.

Pre or ante can be used. I think it is just used in certain ways because it sounds better that way. Internet (ie world wide web) is an external network whereas intranet is an internal network usually specific to an organisation or company.

think in terms of an operation in the hospital: anything done BEFORE the operation is called - PRE-OP and after the operation is called - POST OP SO PRE means before, and the opposite - POST - means after,
