I agree with the person who advised talking it over with your husband. Do that, for both your sakes.

No one can answer your question very well without knowing where you live. Generally Canada looks after widows better than the U.S. does (not just widows but everyone, really, but that's another story). You'd get survivor's benefits from the Canada Pension Plan as well as 50-60 percent of any pensions from your hubby's employer(s).

I find this a horrible question to ask here. Unless you are wanting and/or waiting on him to be gone, why not discuss it with him, if he is in such bad health? Not quite sure what type of Widow's Pension you mean, unless you're talking about Social Security, or Life Insurance.... Maybe retirement?

I guess maybe I'm taking this rather personal as my husband passed away very unexpectedly in December. I know he left me pretty well off, but I'd much rather be broke and happy than well off and alone.

What he paid in will be pro rated and a check will be issued to you once a month for widow's benefits. Check with SS to inquire as to what age you have to be in order to collect this benefit upon his death. In some states, the widow has to be 60. The same goes for your husband if you die before he does.

I really do not know... You will get some kind of income monthly frim what your husbands pace of emplyment or socaial security would pay... I really do not know how this works for husbands but since you work he may get something from social security as well.
