Divorcing the cheating non working ex was the easiest smartest thing I did. To say I'm glad to be out of that marriage is putting it mildly.

My husband cheated and I could not deal with it,so I left.He begged me to stay, said he made a mistake, was under influence of drugs. It was the only thing I thought I could do. I thought how could he love me if he did that? Now 10+ years later, I have grown up some to realize, that maybe I made a mistake too. I know now, he just needed more attention. Yes, he should have not done it, and he should have been able to control himself. But I too should have given more time to our relationship and not been so wrapped up in raising the kids, keeping the house up and my career. All impostant things, but now I see I may have been too wrapped up in all of it.So I was glad to be out of it at the time, but now I wish I had at least tried before leaving. My children would not have had such a hard life being raised by a single mom.I regret not knowing if I had tried, would it have worked. But I believe one being happy is most important,do what makes you happy. It is better to be alone than with someone that makes you unhappy.
