Japanese animated puppet story ...?

o.k. so when I was 8 I remember seeing this Japanese story on TV that was made with moving dolls telling the story of an old Japanese couple living alone when one day the old man finds a baby girl in the woods. She grows up suddenly one night while outside a carriage is seen descending from the moon. It turns out that this is the moon queen who has come to take back her daughter... Anyone know of this story? Would love to get a copy ... it was just tooo beautiful !

It doesn’t sound familiar, but that is a very pretty story. Have you tried Toonopedia? They have so many entries, you never can tell what might turn up. Good Luck!
