It just seems that most movies and TV shows (especially TV shows) today are all about people screaming at each other.

They are not made for the "thinking viewer"....so the plot lines are paper thin...
I watched 'CARRIE' the other day....remember when they were going to dump the bucket on her head...well they spent 15 or so minutes showing the blood be accquired, the bucket being placed. The string was followed all the way back to the source. The people under the stage, The bucket had to rattle a bit. Someone pointing under the stage to let the viewer know what was going to happen.
etc.
A noteable exception to this would be HBO's THE WIRE.

For television too much commercials but I guess that's how they make their money. A very annoying habit is that they tell you they will bring you a certain news after the commercial and they keep on saying it after each commercial, and sometimes they even fisnish without tell you about it.

swearing.. that is so bad that you start to blank it out and it becomes normal until your mum walks in and says what on earth are you watching... LOL
that and commercial breaks and unrealistic sex scenes... everyone knows it aint like what it is in the movies... wake up!!!

I picked up a few times and other have pointed it out.
for example no one ever says good bye they just hang up the phone...
who does that in real life...
