The terrorists that attacked us on 9/11 were the product of the muslim religion, not of any one country. Iraq was a breeding ground for terrorist, just as all of its muslim neighbors and no doubt contributed to the terrorists of 9/11 in addition to countless other attacks before and since.
Liberating and securing Iraq alone will only go so far to improve our own security; it is only a small part of the wider war on violent Islam. We need to destroy the current regime in Iran. Once the primary mouthpiece of the extremist muslim world is destroyed along with its rhetoric, it will destroy the faith and therefore morale of our muslim enemies.
To say that because Iraq's government wasn't directly involved in the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and therefore we should have attacked is like saying that we shouldn't have landed on the beaches of Normandy because France didn't invade Europe during WWII. Ridiculous.

Nobody ever claimed that they did so there would be no reason to believe it. It frustrates me when people say "Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11." Nobody said they did, we're no in Iraq because of that.
