Any ideas on a short story- about anything?

I have to write a short story english paper 3-6 pages long on any topic. Only problem is- my minds gone blank and I can't think of a topic. Any ideas?? Anything would help!

As a teacher, I get tired of reading the same old stories! The biggest key to writing it write what you know. Tell your life, life of someone you know. What inspires you? What is the stupidest thing you have ever done? What pisses you off? Those are the things that will give you enough to write about. When you pick subjects you are unfamilar with, thats when you get frustrated.

Write about something you know e.g. if you know a lot about Sci Fi, space etc do it about that or of you know a lot about football write a story about that.

Some common topics for stories are winning the lottery, a relative or friend dying, near death experiences, recovering from an illness and acheiving a dream like starting a career as a famous singer.

ugh i had to do this last week, and mine was horrible. Some other people in my class wrote about, a triathalon describing how he felt while he ran, and he passed out in the end, a girl who got hit by a car and died, someone who auditioned for american idol without there parents permission, a guy in a fencing competition, someone wrote about a girl whose dad was a drunk and her mom was dead so her teacher took her in, just find something that you like to do and write about a competition/something that happened while you were doing it. if you play soccer, pretend you're someone in the world cup, etc. Good luck!

Write a story from the point of view of a dollar bill, as it gets passed from person to person, sucked into a pop machine, used to pay for drugs, rolled up into a cylinder, stuffed into a stripper's panties, etc.

can i suggest a short story about what the world will be like in the not too distant future.global warming and the movement of millions of people around the world. that will either impress the teacher or scare him half to death.
