I bought an amount of fleece material to make a blanket for my girlfriend, (I know I'm whipped) but it smells funny. I don't know anything about fabric, is fleece washable? If so, any special instructions?

Yes, I wash it all the time. On a regular cycle, just don't over do it in the dryer, it seems to dry pretty fast for as thick as it feels. I have a fleece blanket and it washes up just fine.

If it's the type of fleece for blankets (like Vellux) or fleece similar to Polar Tec, then you should be able to wash it in warm water without any problems. If you aren't sure, call the fabric store where you bought it to ask about the care instructions.

Fleece is washable, but it is best if you waite until you are finished with it if you are sewing pieces together to make it from different colors. They will end up being different looking and softer after you wash it, and it will be fine but you should do it all together. Use fabric softener and regular detergent and if you put in the dryer use dryer sheets as well.

yes, it is washable. no special instructions, just wash it like you would normal laundry. It might be a good idea to wash it seperatly though.
