I have a two year old bearded dragon. I purchased her a week ago. I picked her out because I saw a male chase her around the cage, mount her and do his deed. Could she possibly become pregnant or does it usually take several attempts. She eats a whole lot and she is digging holes in the same spot in the take all the time.

As carpenter said, you will be able to see what looks like small bulges in her sides and handle her with care because you don't want to rupture one of the eggs in her. Just before she lays she may slow down her eating and start digging a lot. If she IS gravid she is going to need a lay box.

"Lay Box: This should be a separate enclosure from her regular tank. A large Rubbermaid tub works well.(about $10.00 at walmart)
Cut a hole in about 1/2 of the lid for a clamp light to fit through.
Dump a 50lb bag of dirt in(no chemicals) moisten the dirt but not muddy.
Pile the dirt on the opposite end of the light about 12-18 inches deep. Put the lid on, point the light at the mound and add your girl.
Laying can take anywhere from a few minutes to several days. She should dig a hole, back into it, deposit her eggs and burry the hole. Leave her in there during the whole process. She does not need to eat or drink at this time. She doesn’t need any special lighting or her cage.
If she is in there for several days you may want to take her out long enough to give her a bath, at the same time check the dirt and make sure it’s still moist.
After she lays do not disturb her until she is done burying the eggs. At this point take her out and put her in a bath while you carefully excavate the eggs. DO NOT turn the eggs, leave them in the same position they were laid and carefully transfer them to the egg containers.
Be prepared as she can lay more than one clutch from one breeding."

Breeding/incubating/raising babies is A LOT of work. Please check out the link in the source section to read up if you plan on hatching the eggs if she is gravid.

When a beardie breeds its more like a rape, and after the mating the male and female part ways. If you told us how long you have had her and the last day she was with this male at the pet shop, we might better be able to help you out. However to be on the safe side you should get/make her a lay box. It does kind of sound like she might be, but you will know for sure if she lays an egg with in the next few weeks, depending on how long if she is, maybe even days. It would be best to separate the female from the male during the egg laying days, some people swear to separate them immediately afterwards. I will leave that up to you, but whatever the case have fun enjoying your beardies.

Watch for unusually shaped bulges in her sides, and for nesting. Mine always ate more than normal.Do not feel her sides or belly, this could rupture an egg, and handle her carefully until you know for sure. If she does lay, take the eggs out and place them in a moist covered container with vent holes with an ambient heat of around 78-82 degrees. Keep them moist. Good luck
