I have restored and sold several bikes over 20 years old. Not all older bikes are classics -- some bikes were very poorly designed, so have little to no appeal, even if perfect condition. Your best bet is to: 1) watch your year and model on ebay, to see what it sells for (during the riding season preferably), and 2) See if there is an internet forum for your model (search yahoo with keywords "forum" and your bike model) -- if so, search classified ads for prices and maybe also ask members what your bike might be worth. Good luck!

Don't allow others to make your bike choice for you. I have both. HD and a Suzuki Hayabusa, the best of both worlds. The Harleys are just as must fun as a sport bike, just remember that Harley's are way more enjoyable on a long ride. My suggestion is....If you are going to get a Harley. Choose something in the Heritage style, they are very easy to ride, with a lower center of gravity. I have a softail Standard, which feels heavier than the larger bike, due to the center of gravity being higher. There are many types of sport bikes, all are good, just decide which one is right for you. Check out Kevin Schwartz's Racing school if you choose a sport bike, great training from a world Champion rider.

1973 what? 1973 makes it an antique......not a classic. A classic can be a classic when they are still on the show room floor. Other classics take years to be recognized.
Try the Walnecks thing the other post said.
good luck with it.

those are rare collector's items and if in good condition are worth as much as a new bike costs right now.
