Im wanting to use one that will not be confusing switching on and off for breast feeding. I was thinking about Dr. Browns wide neck? Any suggestions?

Sometimes it will just be your baby's preference. I switched to Avent.

I have babysat for many infants who were bottle and breast fed. Across all these babysitting jobs, I have used just about every brand of bottle out there and I think the best is Avent. For one thing, they have four levels of nipple flow/size, so you can just move to a bigger nipple with a faster flow as your baby gets older. Other systems have this too, but Avent ones are more clearly marked. Also, the general design of the bottles are preferable. They are shorter and wider, making them more comfortable to hold, harder to knock over, easier to clean and a better fit for the top rack of a dishwasher (some other brands of 8oz bottles are too tall to stand up right). An additional product suggestion that was just introduced to me recently is a special bag that goes in the microwave with some water for several minutes and steams nipples clean. Much easier than the little brushes!

I saw that someone else recommended Playtex bottles. In my opinion, drop-ins are much more cumbersome to prepare - especially if you think you might be holding the baby while preparing the bottle.

Also, whatever bottles you go for, ebay is great place to buy them! They are much cheaper used, and whether you bought them new or used, I'd assume you'd sterilize them before using them anyway.

When I was breastfeeding I used a bottle called BrestFlow, you can buy it at Babies r Us. It has a double nipple (one inside the other) and mimics breastfeeding closer than any other bottle I found.

When I stopped breastfeeding (due to medical reasons, I now exclusively pump) I switched to Dr. Brown's standard bottle. I love it. There's more to clean, but it's not a big deal, everything can go in the dishwasher. Buy a dishwasher basket that has a place to put straws on it for the tube in the center of the bottle (Target sells one). I didn't try the wide neck bottles because my mini cooler won't hold wide neck ones.

if you want to use a good bottle to switch out from breatfeeding, i would use the avent, one because the nipple on the bottle is wider and he wont get confused about which is which, and wont take to one or the other more. I would also think about using a bag bottle its easy to use and when you pump you can pump it into the bags that go into the bottle and freeze them, so when you get ready to use them all you have to do is put them in some warm water and open them up and stick it in a bottle. You dont have to wash so much can, you can just throw them away when you are finished. I hope this helps, i have been ther and done that!!! Good luck with your new baby.

My 2 sons both had problems as babies. One has colitis and the other had GERD (a gasto reflux disease) which means he couldn't keep his feedings down without meds daily. They both used Dr browns regular bottles and they were a godsend! The wideneck bottles seems too wide for the stroller cups and the diaper bag holders too. Also my son's did not care for holding them like the regulare doc brown bottles either... was too wide for their hands to graps easily and hold onto. Just my opinion.

I use Dr.browns and they rock!!I cannot find the wide neck here so I use Gerber Orthodontic nipples in them and they are great!!Double the air release.I also heard Playtex are really good and not too confusing for the switch.

I always preferred the Playtex Nurser as a supplement to breast feeding.
