What might be helpful is if you got you child interested in an outdoor activity or some board games that he could take over to his fathers without you saying anything. 6 hours of tv time is a bit much, too bad his father doesn't think so. You might have to say something, but in a nice way. Or suggest to him places to take your son, like the mall, rollerskating, Barnes and Noble or to a cousins house for the day. Good luck.

No more than 6 hours a week. Tell dad to take him to the library, to the park, to the zoo, to museums--anything but television. Any activity that requires a childs creativity is a good activity. Unfortunately children are overwhelmed with all those electronic games/tv/play station, etc. and their creativity is not required, but it is a necessary thing for proper development of a child. Reading a book is like tv in the head and it broadens the vocabulary.....Good luck

i think that when parents separate the parents need to discuss rules and routines for the children so that they can have some consistency in their lives. t.v, i allow my children up to an hour a day except on weekends if they watch a movie. video games, if you think he's too young for these games then talk to your ex, remember you are both his parents and you still need to parent together even if you are not together.

video games and tv are no longer something you may guage as "how a lot is appropriate." it relatively is a case via case form of ingredient. maximum parents fail to realize that if their toddlers won't be able to play video games, then there is in basic terms about no longer the rest for them to do. specific, for the duration of a school week they might desire to no longer be enjoying or watching television in the event that they have homework or might desire to bypass to mattress early with the intention to stand up on time. video games are no longer made to be academic. they're made to entertain you. in the event that they have been academic, then they in all probability would not be very unique. in case your baby became right into a woman, then i might comprehend you getting the only nonviolent video game on the industry(Barbie sequence.) for her. yet for a boy, you may enable him play stuff like Halo, Kingdom Hearts, very final fantasy, and so on. regardless of pastimes him. Oh, you may desire to get him activities video games, yet those are in many cases lame, till you have a Nintendo Wii. besides, if the ex has in basic terms slightly land on your son to play arouns on, then specific, get him to bypass play exterior, yet whilst he in basic terms has an condominium or something, then do no longer assume your baby to purpose to bypass play baseball or something... The score device for video games is quite often deceptive.. My famous man or woman wars video game is rated teenager simply by fact it has " gentle Violence and gentle-weight Language". gentle violence quantities to shooting at those with a spaceship and gentle-weight launguage is approximately reminiscent of "Darn" .. yeah.. besides, as long as he's no longer enjoying Mature video games, different than for Halo, on the grounds this is in basic terms violent, then you definately could enable him proceed. besides, their's my piece.
