Here's a good strategy to help you with any algebra problem:

Put the unknown variables (x, y, z etc) together on one side of the "=" sign, and the known variables (actual numbers eg 1, 2, 3...) on the other side. Then use substitution rules to move them around until you get the answer:

1/x + 1/x + 2 = 1/3
1/x + 1/x = 1/3 - 2
(1/x + 1/x) = 1/3 - 2
x(1/x + 1/x) = (1/3 - 2)x
2 = (-5/3)x
-5/6 = x
x = -5/6

Learn the rules of algebra. Once you know the basic rules then you will not have to ask other people for the information...ever. It will be worth it, I promise you will use these rules later in life.
