Yes, if it is cold outside, the cold air can cause coughing. If this is the case, avoid the cold air or see if your doc thinks you need an albuterol inhaler temporarily. Do you have asthma?

Some people have asthma that gets worse when they take an aspirin or a group of drugs called NSAIDs(like motrin, advil, ibuprofen). Lots of cold medicines contain aspirin.

Or you may have outdoor allergies. You could try an over the counter decongestant and antihistamine for this. If this does not work, see your doctor.

hmm
I'm gonna take a guess here and assume either you live in a place with a colder climate, or a place with a warmer climate. If you live in a colder climate, the coughing onset when you go outside could be due to the temperature change causing you to go into spasms. If you live in a warmer climate, say Florida for instance, you could be experiencing allergies from all of the pollen in the air.
My suggestion is that you go and see a doctor, either you have bronchitis, or you have allergies. It also depends on what your cough sounds like, if its raspy...
GOOD LUCK!

what kind of medicine?? I know when I went outside when I was taking advair..it killed me..I couldnt breathe and I was coughing. My doctor kept uping my dosage and he didnt realize he was causing the problem. I dont know what it is bugging you but see someone about it and always ask about your medication.

Could be bronchospasms, pneumonia, upper respiratory infection. The list goes on and on.
