More than likely you have a problem that is just in that particular faucet. Replacing that faucet should do the trick. Sometimes the faucet will strip out and not open properly when you try to turn it on. If the water is fine in all the rest of the house replacing that faucet should fix the problem.

The first place to look is under the sink. Many homes have shut-off valves attached to the lead-in pipes, and the faucet is connected to them by means of a tube or a flexible pipe..

It wil likely look like an outdoor faucet handle, but might be something else. In any case, there will be a visible connector.

If there is no under-sink shutoff valve, then there may be a problem with the faucet control valve, but there is no way to know what type you have at the moment, so repair could range from simple, as in replacing a damaged gasket, to a complete assembly that has to be done as a unit. Faucet repair is not really a difficult thing to do, but different manufacturers have many ways of doing it.

Before attempting this part, look for a brand name on your faucet, and then see if you can find a similar faucet in a hardware store, and ask the people there for advice on how to take it apart.

Before taking anything apart, remember to shut off the water supply to the house.

A lot of sinks have shut off valves below. Make sure that's on.

If the shut off valve is not the problem, remove the faucet to see if any water comes out. If it's a small amount, you might have an obstruction in the pipe.

If no water at all, find out where the pipe is coming from, and make sure it's connected.

Check the water lines, make sure your getting water to the faucet and if you still getting water it might be wiser to just replace the faucet.
