Matt walks 20 blocks to school in 3/4 of an hour. How long does it take matt to walk 3 of those blocks? show your work.

3/4 of an hour is 45 minutes. So take 45 and divide by 20. This will tell you that he walks one block in 2.25 minutes. Take the per block time of 2.25 and multiply by 3 blocks and you will have your answer of 6.75 minutes.

This is of course assuming he maintains a steady speed throughout the entire walk of 20 blocks and doesn't slow down towards the end.

20/45 = 3/x Then solve for x:

20x=135
135/20 = x
x=6.75 minutes
