i saw that in the book but then my friend took it away from me can u tell me why he did that

I believe it simbolized his loss. I loved that book. It was really sad.

i did that play in school =) it was awesome

oh yea, the answer, lol.

okay, after leslie drowned, he was all sad and everything, obviously, and he was pretty much trying to forget about her because remembering her just made him feel worse, like it was his fault. so he threw the art set that she gave him into the creek where she drowned so he wouldn't have anything to remember her by.

or at least that's why in the play.

Oh I love that book!!!
Leslie gave it to him and he was upset that SHE died. He was mad at her I suppose.. If you read the whole book you'd know why she wouldn't be suspected to die.
