A therapist who dates a client can lose his/her license and face all sorts of diciplinary action.

If you find yourself attracted to your therapist, the best thing to do for your own progress is to seek out a different therapist (someone for whom you'd definitely NOT have these attractions).

It's not uncommon to "crush" on a therapist, doctor, or other such professional. These sorts of people are in the business of being a good listener, being a source of comfort, etc. It's normal to have little crushes like this from time to time. However, it's unethical for a professional to encourage or pursue it.

Good luck in finding a new therapist in whom you can trust and with whom you have no attraction.

It's against the ethical code to date a patient. Seek a different therapist and then consider dating your old one.

Yes she will read into it...No you should not ask her out. She will say no anyways. It's an ethics and code of conduct thing. Therapist don't date their patients. Find someone else to ask out.

1. Your co-worker
2. Your therapist, doctor, anybody that knows your life (like you wouldnt do it to your family, right?)
3. Bartender (or anybody you pay to serve you, keep business business!)

There are rules of ethics that makes it wrong to date your therapist. If you want to get another therapist then you can do it.

There is no way she will say yes. It is against her Code of Ethics. If you dated her she could lose her job and her entire life of hard work. I would wait until you were not a client of hers for about a year. I hate to break it to ya bud, but I am a Counsellor and we go by the same Code of Ethics..Good Luck

Find another therapist first, then ask your old one out about a year after you last saw her on a professional basis. :D

Ethically she can not date a patient.

It's against her code of ethics to go on a date with you.Maybe you should either try and wait until she is no longer or therapist or find someone new.

I don't think it's such a great idea. Have you ever watched the Soprano's? She will squash you down like a bug. She'll tell you that it's the therapy that's making you feel this way and that you are just comparing her to what is missing in another female figure in your life.

You're kidding yourself into thinking the patient-therapist relationship is a romantic one.
