I am not on any birth control at the moment, I recently came off the mini pill for health reasons and am now using barrier methods.

Look up Nuva Ring. It's the best. You leave it in for three weeks and out for one. My wife has been using it for more than three years. It's made by Organon. She hasn't gained any weight with this. She did with the pill.

Abstinence is the best.

Birth control can really, and I mean REALLY mess you up!
Chances that you can become sterile and bi-polar-ness
Also blood clots are a big one.

there is abstinence, birth control pills, iud's, condoms, vaginal suppositories(oval encare), rhythm method, morning after pill, abortion.
