Well actually "no" But a long time ago sailors thought a creature called a manatee { kinda like a walrus} was a mermaid { they must've been at sea a mighty long time to make that mistake}. Also a famous con artist named P.T. Barnum sewed together the remains of a mummified monkey and a tail end of a dried fish together. And said it was the remains of a dead mermaid surprisingly people believed him

I don't believe there is a correct or wrong answer to this question. There is no proof that they do exist, however, that works both ways, that is to say there is no proof that they don't exist either. The way i see it is you have to ask yourself do you believe or not. If you do well that's fine and if you don't that's fine too. My opinion, is yes, why not; anything to make the world a little more interesting.

Mermaids are fantasy, they're not real. They are just made up for kids. Unless you want to swim in the ocean to find out! Good question!

actually a few years back...some country somewhere i saw it in the news...they found a corpse of something that resembles a MERMAID in the myth...but its not human size and its not pretty. its about a forearm long, its got a tail like a fish and everything..and the top part resembles human...but not really...the features, yea like human but if it was the ugliest thing ever. it was greyish in color too.. it was in the newspaper somewhere...years ago...
