The chicago tribune is to blame. They have owned the cubs for a long while (until recently). They refused to spend money on the team. The reason: why spend money on a team if you don't have to to fill up the seats. If you look at seasons past between teh white sox and the cubs, the cubs seats always filled up as opposed to comiskey park when the seats were empty. Then the white sox were force to spend some money to fill up the seats.

it has nothing to do with a damned goat!!!!!!!!!!!!Its because of an owner who knew nothing about baseball one incompetent general manager after another, other owners reluctant and unwilling to open their pocket books, one stupid move after another,a general manager who thought resigning Andre Dawson and Greg Maddux was bad,and bad managers.By the way.For over 40 years The Cubs won a lot of pennants and were NOT chokers!Between 1906 and 1945 the Cubs won 8 pennants, you can look it up!It was only when PK Wrigley took over that things went sour.I hate the way people make it sound like its been 100 years of losing, when its simply not true! And I hate that stupid goat! There is no curse people!

Signing good players and turning them bad. Mark Prior and Kerry Wood get injured every year. People slump at the wrong time. Dusty Baker.

HEY HEY!!! It is because of the curse as well as bad luck. Hopefully, If my Yankees come up short, the Cubs will be my second choice. Good luck to the Cubs and their fans in 2007.

i think its because that cant find a coach thats good enought to stay there, it takes more than a year for a coach to truley understand his team. But, i think they got a chance with lou pinnela and alfonso soriano. Mostly because Lou Pinnela is very expierienced. But they also need mark prior to stay healthy, and they need a sold closer to, but other than that they have good offense. Derrick Lee, Alfonso Soriano, Aramis Ramirez, and a speedy center fielder

A lot of bad luck plus they keep expanding the leagues reducing everybody's chance of winning. 98 years is nothing anyway in geological terms! It's probably something to do with how good their teams have been. All this talk of curses is a lot of rubbish.
