Wow...the things a 16 year old could do a nursing home are awesome!!
First, you could help each patient by making their bed all nice and cozy for them since some patients get cold very easily and could use an extra blanket and a fluffy pillow.
Next, you could serve each patient their meals and keep them company while they eat.
Then afterwards, you could color, play a game or just talk to each patient and let them know just how you care about their well-being.
Nursing home patients need to know that the rest of the world (including the patients family) hasn't forgotten about them and just the little things that you will help them in so many ways.
So you see, the things that a 16 year old could do in a Nursing Home really are awesome!!

I worked at a nursing home as a teenager and I remember changing sheets on the beds, taking the residents down to the dinning room in their wheelchairs, sometimes helping to feed the ones who couldn't do it by themselves. It was a very rewarding job if you like to be around older people - it's kind of like babysitting for adults. It is also a great thing to do if you are thinking about doing something in the medical field when you graduate - especially nursing.

You could work with the activities that the residents are involved in, in the kitchen or helping serving meals I'm sure. My daughter's friend worked in a nursing home her junior & senior years in high school in the activities department & loved it! GOOD LUCK!

Get a job in the kitchen. Dishwasher is easy, and you would probably help in general around the kitchen. I did it, I thought it was a good job at the time.
