Scrub the previous idea. It looks like a vibrating medicine ball, but it's probably some sort of animal.

A mouse? Hamster? Small kitten? A big spider? Use your imagination! If you saw a moving bump under a rug, what would you think it was? Better yet - what's something that could be under the rug and might scare you? Remember, the story is a mystery!

It could be a mystery clue, special documentation, maybe even a rock as evidence of a clue. OR if u wanna write a story about it, the bump is actually a sock that the tiny people who live under the loose floor board dropped as they were running away from a bypassers foot. IDK-be imaginativ also- it could represent a problem or a clue
