I heard they use the same engine in an Audi TT, but that has 225 bhp, they tune the A4 down to 163 bhp. Is there anything I can do to change that?

A company called Superchips are the well tuners .THe engine you have is different due to the turbo boost pressure. The engine needs to be on a rolling road to determine its health before modifications are started other wise the motor will blow .The e c u has to be reprogrammed as well to a safer parameter.Dont be tempted to do anything before hand it will cost you dearly.cheers

I have an Audi A4 T1.8 (2000). It seems that most (all) performance chips are geared towards the turbo engine. It seems that by getting ECU / chip upgrade this engine can go from 150 HP to 200 HP easily. Fifty extra HP for $500 is unheard off. So I can't tell you where you can get your performance chip upgrade. But at least I thought I should inform you as to WHY you might not be able to find upgrade chips. Good luck.

Go for Revotechnik plenty of dealers around the country will load the software on. You can expect 195bhp afterwards for your car.

The TT is a similiar engine but with different internals to take the extra power.

There are loads of VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda tuners out there. I listed all those cars because they all use the same engines.
