Having recently eaten at a Bubba Gumps in Hawaii, let me tell you what I thought. The drink that I had was a raspberry lemonade, and it good, but not that good. Also, no free refills. Then we ordered some garlic bread, which was good, even though it was just that, and only a couple of pieces (not very good as an appetizer). Then I ordered the fish/chip and he ordered the coconut shrimp basket. A lot of fries, few pieces of fish/shrimp. We did buy the souvenir glasses (from the waitress cuz they are cheaper than from the gift shop), and our bill was over $50.00. We both felt that we had paid for the privilege of eating there, that the food was acceptable, service was good, but the cost was way way too high. The gift shop is full to walk around in, and take your picture on the bench with the running shoes, box of chocolates, and white feather. But if there is something else close that you would be allowed to go to, it might be better on your pocketbook to skip the meal at Bubba Gumps.

It's from the movie Forest Gump remember the black guy that was his only friend that taught him all about shrimp? Well some one payed hella money to buy the name and make a real restaurant. Its one of those things that upper middle class people pretend is cooler then it is so they can brag to people about it.

I think it's an exceptionally bad restaurant. Cooking good shrimp is an art rarely encountered in chain restaurants and paying extra for a "theme" makes no sense to me at all.
(I hated the film too but that's a different issue.)

Haven't you ever watched Forrest Gump. That's what his shrimping business is called.

I've never eaten there but I really don't care thatmuch for all these fancy seafood restaurants like at the beach . They aren't nearly as good as the seafood restaurants in small towns.
