I would say (not for size) either Pink Floyd or the stones.

I can't see how ANY modern bands (post 1990) can take said title because of sheer lastability and sales. I am 22, not 52 so am not just saying the above because I think 'modern life is rubbish' or whatever... but whatever is said, you can't beat the stones - brilliant ticket sales, brilliant music and 45 years of service. Enough said.

The title of biggest band in the world (popularity wise) has recently been given to U2.

Reedley High marching band has 306 Students each year... If your thinking of by fame probably U2 or Coldplay, they are pretty well known world wide.

As much as i'd like to big up the Who, it is Rolling Stones, because of their tours and their albums still going over the top well 40 years on!

Royal philamonic is quite large.

theres an oasis tribute band called obesis, they`re all quite big
