haha i really don't think it makes any difference, especially to the "victim". the words "i'm not trying to be rude, but. . ." seem to be 5 very useless words when it comes to simon

I think it would be better if he said "In my opinion you can't sing" rather than "You can't sing". Sounds less hurtful.
Don't you think it gets a bit annoying when he tells every other bad singer that they are the worst ever?
but it answer.... i do think it softens the blow ever so slightly. He's not being rude, he's being honest.

He admits that he can't sing! Did you read the last Playboy article about him? He also admits to being harsh, rude, and an a**.
So it doesn't soften the blow at all. He knows he's doing it.

no it doesn't help at all....
but those poor souls who go there with family and friends in tow, who cant sing....well so much for honesty from family and friends.
i only wish for Simon is a way to state what he has to say with out all of his cynical criticizing.

I don't think it does.I really don't like hI'm because he is so mean to everyone on American Idol and i think that he just says im not being rude to make himself feel better for hurting other people.I have heard him sing before,he isn't that good.
