Anyone have any idea whether the state of Illinois would be LIKELY or UNLIKELY to extradite from California on a pending misdemeanor DUI case/warrant?

Ignore the 3 people above me; they have no idea what they're talking about. I'm confused as to why they even attempted to answer the question since they obviously don't know the answer. Just going for the points I guess. I think that's my biggst pet peeve about Yahoo answers, people who think they know things, but really don't....

Anyway, to answer your question...

It's unlikely a police or sheriff's agency would be willing to extradite out of CA to Illinois for a DUI unless there were felony charges involved. You said there were not. Judges and the severity of the charges determine how far an agency will go to extradite, the state of Illinois has nothing to do with it.

So if you do meet up with a CA officer, he will know you are wanted out of Illinois, but he cannot arrest you on that warrant since the issuing Illinois agency will not want to come out and get you.

If there's a warrant out for you, they can bust you anywhere. The cops out there will send you back because they may want the same favor from the Illinois cops sometime in the future.

Within the United State I believe they can take you from the state you are in currently to the state they want to bust you in. So, yes they can and probably will.
