Some questions I believe I have to let other people choose the best answer for. Some I just choose best answer as soon as I can. I'm not negligent or anything but sometimes, I just let em go. How many have you done like this?

I've only let that happen once and it was really because I just couldn't pick an answer fairly. Someone deserved the ten points because there were loads of good answers and it was only fair.
I've always,otherwise, made a point of picking my own.

I always choose the best answer because that way I get some of the points back I lost when I posted the question.

i let opinion questions go into voting(unless there is a really great answer) because i know that i will be biased. factual questions are easier to decide on a best answer... whatever is correct and gives the most info.
i decide based on the type of question i ask

I only give someone a best answer if they really give a helpful answer, otherwise they usually go to voting.

I only let it go to voting when I can't decide, or if it's a question that it's impossible for ME to decide on, so yeah...
