add the positives and negatives separately and it makes this problem easier to do

34+12=46
-3-23-15=-41
46-41=5
5/5=1 1 degree is your average

34,-3,-23,12, and -15 let's see 46 positive and 41 negative = 5 positive divided by 5 days = positive 1 degree

Add all your numbers together first.

34 + -3 + -23 + 12 + -15= 5 (positive 5 degrees)

Then divide that number by the number of addatives.

5/5= 1

One degree Farenheit was the average. COLD!!
