Legal and religious aspects aside, is there a point to marriage?

Many people choose to go through life alone. Monks, nuns, for example. It is the selecting of not being alone. The point is that it is like a corporation. There should be a partnership involved. Two people can live in harmony together even opposites.

Marriage also garners special things from the government because they want you to be married. For example, the highest standard deduction is married filing joint. Medical is similar for health benefits. There is also the case where married people tend to live longer.

It is much more than legal or religion, it is a partnership that should be undertaken by two parties that wish to remain together for their part of time here on earth.
