Yes, but I hope you've got a much better reason for getting that PhD than to just improve your med school chances. Getting a PhD can be a very time consuming process. Med school and your internship and residency is going to be long enough.

you only need a bachelor's to get into med school. Im assuming you already have a master's so just apply to med school now. It is a waste of time to get a phd and then MD, you will be 50 when you start practicing.
