you should check out libertarianism.com.
many liberals agree that the federal government should be responcible for all social programs, taxes, and education issues in school. I think that each state should control issues like that on their own. When the constitution was written, the men who wrote it, knew what harm a large government could do. it didn't matter if it was ruled by a kind, president, or any other titled position. they knew that a large federal goverment would eventually start to chip away at the freedoms that they wanted their countrymen to have. they set up the constitution so that each state had more power then the federal government. that is the way it should be, not the way it is now.
