no, communist countries operate like military - they have different ranks with different pay, and every job is assigned to a specific rank.

People will come up to you in the street and ask for a [convertible] peso which is 10% of a doctor's monthly pay. That is why the country is on its knees and school kids don't want to go to universidad.

I don't about doctors, but the parents of the boy whose mother kidnapped him from Cuba to Miami made very good money working in a tourist hotel. Almost $1000 each per month, though most in tips of American dollars.

What on earth are you doing with all those capitals and all that punctuation ? It's true that doctors earn much the same as other workers, but those involved in the tourist trade get access to foreign currency and this is now the best paid work.
