Whats wrong with learning to defend yourself or must you rely on government for everything like little children?

I think people who do this are not humans but sheep in human skin.

Because to some extent, you can't have both. You must always give up at least a little of one for the other.

Baaaaah....

What do you want to keep private?

Why?

I personally think privacy is a major problem in America. There's way too much of it. If all of us were more transparent in all areas of our lives, we would all know far better who we are all dealing with when we are dealing with each other.

If we weren't so private, we'd know if we were dealing with someone who has killed before, stolen, done or dealt drugs, is wanted for crimes, we'd know who is carrying / transmitting disease. But as things are, we don't know who we are dealing with so we have this false since of security. Or total mistrust of all who we are not familiar.

I say ban - outlaw privacy. Be transparent and less ashamed of who you are. Come out into the open. Keeping secrets is a means of keeping yourself prisoner to your secrets. Get to know the relief and freedom of being open and honest.
