I've pierced my own nose, and believe me you don't know everything. For one, your needle needs to be larger than your nose ring. That's why the needles are hallow, they make a cut in a U shape form and the ends are hallow so you can slide the jewelry into the end and make one quick pull and the nose ring will be inserted. You should have a 20 or 18g hallow needle. For two, it doesn't matter how tough your cartilage in your nose is. If you take it out before it's completely healed, it WILL close up. And sometimes that doesn't even matter. Get a retainer (clear jewelry) to put in your nose after it's COMPLETELY healed. For three, there is a vein right next to where your nostril piercing goes that if you hit it, you can go blind. Ask your doctor. I checked it out with mine before I did it. And I was very fortunate. For four, whatever professional told you to do it yourself is a complete dumb *** and should be fired. NO real "professional" will tell you to do it yourself. As far as the cork, you don't need one. I didn't use one. Just be careful when you do it not to jab it in and just take it slow since you don't know what you're doing. Also, whatever amount of money you bought the supplies for, you could of just had somebody do it for you. They go for around 50 bucks at most. Make sure to clean everything as good a possible... and you should just wait to go to a professional.

You are being very foolish. Your nose has cartilage. Doctors will tell you that infection from piercing cartilage can damage heart valves, etc. If you insist on doing this, a professional is a must. Besides, do you think you will be allowed to keep this when your mother finds out? Also, getting a job may be difficult with this type of piercing.

If you are thinking of doing it yourself, your mom is absolutely 100% correct in not allowing you to do it. if you are not old enough to make good designs you are obviously not old enough to get stupid piercings on your face.
