gerbil roll-about ball?

i just bought my gerbils one of those balls that they run around in. is there any way to stop them from pooping and peeing inside the ball, or to stop the poop from falling out of the ball? i don't remember this problem with my hamsters, but that was a long time ago.

There's really no way to keep them from going in the ball. Your best bet is to let them play in the ball over tile, so at least any mess is easier to clean up.

Buy diapers to your gerbils. I have one gerbil here and I let him run in the toilet with the door closed, it's easier to clean!
