Hello,
I installed a new furnace & also had my home insulated in 1999 & spent $7,000 to do so. I never took any sort of tax credit for this (not even sure if there was one available). Does anyone know if there was and if so can I file an amended return for this or is it too late? Thanks.

I believe the enery savings has only become available during tax years of 2006 and 2007. As for being able to amend taxes, the IRS statute of limitations on amending anything is a 3 year time span, so you'd only be able to amend back to 2003. Of course if you don't file your taxes period, the IRS can look at a much longer time span than just 3 years.
