I warned a transgender friend that she should probably reconsider her idea about going to a local sports bar to have fun around other people and watch the Super Bowl. My friend who is quite attractive, told me that other people didn't have to know about her past and that she knew what she was doing. she told me she should be able to go where she wants to go and be with whoever she wants to be with. Personally I don't think it should matter either but I also know that alcohol can distort a person's judgement and exagerate emotions.

I know my friend only wants to fit in and is attracted to places other people go to have fun but isn't she going to get into trouble?

Possibly, if she wants to go there for sex.
If not, I doubt anyone would notice.
If for sex, I hope she dosen't take some one
by surprise. Some guys take issue with that.
I'm sure by now she knows what the world's
about though. Hope she has a good time.

You are a true friend for being so concerned about her safety. If she's old enough to go into a bar then she 's old enough to accept consequences, if any. She's probably more aware of her surroundings than those that aren't like her she obviously feels a sense of confidence. If she's comfortable with who she is then she'll have a greater chance of acceptance by those around her. Continue to be there for her.

No one should have to be concerned about being attacked or threatened in any way, but unfortunately that is not always the case. I think if she is going alone I don’t think is a good idea and would strongly recommend she didn’t go alone, but I really don’t recommend any one go to a bar alone regardless of sex or any thing else. If you or another friend of hers is going with her then I thing she should go but if she is going alone then she should not go.

As you said people will get drunk and she or he is at risk. Some people do not have good judgment. Why dont you throw a super bowl party and invite him or her over.

I applaud her desire to go wherever she wants. She should do want she feels is best for herself. As, her friend be there for her, she might have self esteem issues if she feels you don't support her. Be a Friend
