tapering off klonopin should be done under a doctors supervision only! be very careful with that......klonopin is a benzodiapine and can have very nasty withdrawl side effects.

I was on an anti-anxiety drug for 3 years and it was very hard going off it. You do have to do it very gradually and you just have to prepare yourself mentally for it. Before I decided to go off the drug I just prepared myself for what I might go through. It helps to have some relaxing CDs to listen to and just something to do if you end up feeling bad, like movies to watch. Anyway, for your question...I have taken melatonin when I wanted to fall asleep or get some deep sleep and it does work without any harmful effects. It is of course a natural chemical our brains produce to induce sleep. So, if you feel any anxiety or insomnia while going off klonopin it might help with that.
