"Da Bears" is a nod to a series of SNL skits about the "Superfans".
The group would discuss upcoming sporting events and inevitably predict a victory for the Chicago team, using an exaggerated Chicago accent, normally culminating in a uniform toast to "Da Bearss" and "Da Bullss".

It's a nickname. It's not like their official title. I believe the "DA" came from the saturday night live superfan skit in which two die hard bears fans had bad accents and instead of saying "The" they said "DA". The idea caught on quick. The football guys on espn say Da bears now as well as many others. Just kind of a pop culture thing. Their correct name is "The Chicago Bears"

I think Ditka started the whole thing with Da Bears. That is just what their fans call them. It is a Chicago thing, like Da Bulls.
