You want a cord labeled "indoor/outdoor" or SJTW. I know they have them at Ace hardware stores, on ebay, and on Amazon.com. (SJTWA is fine, too.) You might also want to do a web search for super flexible or ultra flexible extension cord.

Home Depot. Get the 12 guage Rigid cord. The rubber is very flexible and stays that way in the cold. You're gonna pay a little more for a good cord but the benefits of it make it worth every dollar.

I love it,I know just what you mean..There are some cords that will still bend at -10` Rubber, in the bulk, and make your own. The only way to tell is to take them outside and wait a while to see if they bend better than copper tubing..Every time I try this the store clerks go berserk. To hell with them, I do it any way..

I haven't had any problems with the ones I have, that came from Wal-Mart, and I used them over Christmas time when it was really cold out. If those don't work for you, you should check with Lowe's or Home Depot, maybe they have a special type rated for colder weather. Or a regular electrical supply store in your area:)
Good Luck!
