My poor husband, who asks for nothing, loves it. He kept it hidden from me for months while we were dating! WHAT can I do today???? It's too cold to leave the house, and all I ever do is read. Plus, when reading is the ONLY thing you can do, you don't want to do it? Any interesting suggestions?

Dudes, you guys all need to relax!!! I guess people feel passionate about football either way. All I wanted was ideas for today! It's too cold to go out any my husband wants to watch the game! He rocks my world, does nothing wrong, I am the boss of the house, I have many hobbies, but I feel bored and stuck in the house and don't have any grownups to play with! I WANT him to watch the game cuz it makes him happy. I ALWAYS look for an excuse to make appetizers-that's 30 minutes- Give me real ideas and stop making HUGE generalizations about men, women, me, my husband, the economy, global warming, and ecoli outbreaks! RELAX! It's good for you. Oh, and all you cuties who DID give real suggestions for just today, thanks!

Honestly now, it's only one day out of the year and there isn't anything wrong with playing along for his sake. If you do maybe he'll reciprocate when something you enjoy comes around. I know that if I want to go see the latest Andrew Loyd Webber production road company that comes through St. Louis he'll go without a fuss even though it isn't really his "thing". In return I will watch the game with my husband today, make some chicken wings and potato skins, root for the Colts and, if the kids are out of the house, go down on him during half time. Marriage is all about making each other happy, and since we did go to see "Cats" a couple weeks ago I have to say that he kept his end, now it's my turn.

my husband despite the weather went out to watch the game with his friends so I'm at home too but I have a 3 yr old to keep me busy. I like watching movies to past the time, curl up in a blanket and have some ice cream and watch a good movie. If you just want to keep busy try doing things you might have put off. I plan on watching bits and pieces of the game too 1. b/c i live in chicago and I want the Bears to win...2. when my husband comes home and want to talk about the game I'll know what he's talking about or atleast have something to add to the conversation.

I am not by any means into football but my husband is and I want him to enjoy the game so I will sit and watch all I can and then I will go out with my friends shopping. You could stay here and answer questions or e-mail a friend or a million other things you like doing just let hubby enjoy the game.

Well, since he asks for nothing, allow him this day to enjoy it. This is the man's Valentine's day as pointed out in a earlier answer. A girl I once dated did my v-day gift on SuperBowl Sunday. While I was out working the morning of the game, she got everything ready for a super bowl party. When I got there, my buddies were there waiting. I took a quick shower, and right before she left, she kissed me, said "have fun, this is you v-day gift, I expect to get something nice".

She did, and everyone was happy.

Then there is my ex wife. She hated the game with a passion. Probably because I love it so much. I am a college FB man myself, but will always watch the playoffs and Super Bowl. At the beginning of college ball, I would give the ex wife a schedule of the weekends I was free to do whatever she wanted, some that may be negotiable, and weekends that were not up for discussion(Texas v. Oklahoma weekend, or Texas v. aTm the day after turkey day). Without fail, those would be the weekends she would seek out to find things she would want us to try. Then she would complain about it to everyone when i would not be willing to do it.

The only other thing you can do is try to learn the game. My mom didn't like it either. One day, she decided to watch as she said "she couldn't understand why we get so worked up during the game". After explaining the game to her, she was hooked. My mom never curses at all. But, get a good game going, and look out, cause sailor's would be shocked by what comes out of her mouth.

**Side Note** They just showed the tribute to Walter Payton on CBS. Very touching.

The football or sex answer used to be viable, but was a 50/50 gamble. Now, with DVR and Tevo, it doesn't really matter.

Have you considered other hobbies? -- many women enjoy scrapbooking, and that's something that you can do while spending time with your husband while he's watching TV. Spend the time organizing things that you don't normally have time for, making a grocery list for the next week, planning an upcoming trip, figuring out bills, or doing other things that need to be done anyways.
Good luck!

I don't like football, but I have the game on because I love the commercials. While the game is on, I am working on my Mardi Gras costume and playing on the internet. Why don't you go start a Yahoo 360 page? Then you will have a blog and can check out other people's blogs. Or you can make a costume and come to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

Put up with it, it's not that big of a deal! Your husband could be a drug addict, alcoholic, or whatever! Read or watch the game with him! It's not as bad as you think! I love sports and I'm glad I'm able to share my interest with him, but he's not as interested as I am!
I dare you to watch the game with him...I can almost guarantee that he will love it and maybe something will happen later! Guys love this stuff! Don't have a negative attitude about it either, watch it with him or pretend to...Let us know what you decide to do and if you decide to watch it, give us his reaction. Take care and it's not as bad as you think!

Well, global warming has never been proved, so what does that have to do with this? Sounds like you're a bit selfish and can't sit down with your man and watch a game, instead you want to find something different to do. First of all, your man needs to grow a pair and be the man of the house. Second of all, your attitude needs a major adjustment. If you're going to be miserable, maybe you should do something by yourself...

Ha ha, I do too. However, I knew from the start that my husband was a junkie. He played in college. I do many things when my husband is in his zone. I have today already planned. I'm going to read, shop on the net, sleep, eat, and play a couple of games on the net. Sometimes, I doddle in my journal too. Good luck!!

P.S.
In between time I have three children to keep me busy.

Yeah start watching football with your husband , I'm a woman and I love football , it is a fantastic sport. I even pay each year to get them all at one time and I have three TVs going at on time. The neighbors know when they hear me screaming that there she goes another football game. I'm not married , I have friends over are sometimes i just curl up in my PJ's all by myself and watch football all day from 11:00 AM Sunday until 11:00 PM. Start watching let him tell you the rules and maybe you'll get into
liking it , you become addicted to football games, try it.

This is the one time all season that I will watch a game. I am going to sit next to my husband and grin, and bear it. Do you have any idea how happy that will make him?
Take one for the team.
