- The Blair Witch Project 1
- The Shining
- Dawn of the dead (The remake)
- The Grudge 1
- The Lake County Incident
The Lake County Incident is about a whole family who are being terrorized by aliens on Thanksgiving night. The whole movie is filmed with a handcamera just like in The Blair Witch Project. Actually, The Lake County Incident was made a few years before The Blair Witch Project. Don't watch this movie alone, it's very scary.

I normally don't get scared anymore for so-called horror movies because it is full of predictable situations.
An answer you won't expect, but I'll say the true life horror of what happened during the holocaust - Schindler's List

there was a film called "a trilogy of terror" back in the 80's. one of the stories involved an African hunting doll that came alive. the animated doll was, at the time, the most expensive puppet there was. it was displayed in the universal studios museum section, visited the studios back in '82. it is, i agree, an old film but made a terrific impression and was truly gripping

The exorcist or Cannibal Holocaust! The former because it involves a child and the latter because of the fly on the wall style documentary style, it just seems soooo real!!
