Not just legal, but given free of charge. Make it part of the bureaucracy. The addict would have to take classes on the problems associated with drug abuse. He'd have to sign all the forms saying he knew the risk of taking whatever drug. He'd be given information on how to seek drug treatment to break his addiction. He'd be given a special drivers license that says he's a registered drug addict.

Think about it ... absolutely NO property crime associated with drug abuse. The drug is free, you would not need to pay for it. Four million people who are now in jail for drug use, or the property crimes necessary to feed their habit would not be in prison. It would SAVE hundreds of billions of dollars every year. We could close down thousands of prisons and put the savings toward community uses ... including helping those people who want help.

Sure.. why not? The war on drugs has not and will never work anyway. And what do I care if someone wants to fry themselves (Hint: I DONT) not my biz. Legalization dosent affect "children" anyway.. we already have a big legalized drug.. its Called Alcohol.. by law Childern arent allowed alcohol... I suspect it would actually be more cost effective to just give every junkie his drug of choice every day for free than it would to keep same junkie in prison. Legalization would actually prob improve the situations.. it could be regulated & even taxed, not to mention it would take certain "elements" & people out of the loop (organised crime.. dope dealers with Mac 10's etc).. and lets face it being illegal isnt even making a dent on who does or dosent use drugs... and never will...

if your opinion isnt going to be changed then why ask the question. but i'll give you my opinon anyway. i think most drugs should stay illegal. such as crack, heroin, etc. but weed doesnt really do any harm. infact i think it might help society a little. over in amsterdam the crime rate is so low its ridiculous. but its because everyone over there is to high to think about doing anything bad. maybe they should legalize it for a little while and see what happens. if it fails, make it illegal again, but if it helps, leave it alone.

yes i think they should. Also, it doesn't mean more people are going to use drugs, b/c the people who never used drugs and are against them before it was legal aren't going to use them after they're legal. It may decrease crime, sort of how there was less crime during the aftermath of the prohobition era

Yes. Nobody has the right to say you can't do something to yourself. It's your choice to make. You have the right to put what you want into your body whether or not it's stupid. If the government can say you can't smoke weed why can't they say that you can't smoke cigarettes. Or eat McDonald's food. Both of which clearly a lot worse for you then marijuana
