Got hired last Spring and my hopes ran high and got laid off after 7 weeks. What a kick in the head. Not the worst but stands out more where it was so recent.

When I was a sophomore in college, my parents moved and had to put a lot of furniture and stuff in storage. Well that couldn't keep up with the payments, so all of their furniture and my old room stuff was auctioned off. Their was a ancient sewing machine that my mother got from her grandmother, that she was going to pass down to me but it is gone now. This hurt me but it taught me not to become attached to materials in life and love the people I encounter instead.

When I was in middle school, there was this bully that really picked on me, but as we both grew older, he actually came to me to learn guitar. I began to tutor him and he really showed potential as a guitarist. He loved learning the instrument.

He was killed in Vietnam only days before he was to be discharged and sent home. He was also engaged to be married.

I could hardly speak at the gathering at his home after the funeral.

Someone I care about left. That's about all I can say. But suddenly, he was gone. He was really a nice man.
