If you choose family over money, something is seriously wrong with you.

The question really is - what is more important to you - if you are asking this to make a career decision in your own life. Me personally I would much rather have less money and be with my family - I do work full time but I spend any spare moments that I can with them. It really comes down to what is your preference. To me making a lot of money and working all the time would be stupid because even though having a lot of money would be great - would you really have time to enjoy it or even life in general?

A combination of both.
I'd work 24/7 and get lots of money while I was single, save up, buy a house, make investments, then when I think I was rich enough, do the 9-6 family thing... and I actually wouldn't be making less money because I'd be saving money by owning my own house and profiting from investments.

At the end of the day when we have eventually retired, all the money in the world won't make us happy or visit us or be there when we die. I would rather have family and friends.

when I was working I had a friend who had a MASSIVE heart attack
While he was recovering that former workaholic told me
The work he was doing was being done right then by someone else and he took his heart attack to heart and from that point chose family time
He has less money but Much happier life with his family
Me too cause I took his advise and chose family
