Due to geography, there is one key difference between China & the rest of asia & the world.
China was isolated from the rest of the world, due to the fact there are gigantic mountains are there.
That prevented a large amount of imigration from reaching the river valleys, keeping out new technologies & writing systems from the fertile crestent,
China, isolated from any other culture, managed to create its own writing system around 1000 b.c.e.
That single writing system was then "copied" & "changed" from other parts of asia. Japan, korea, etc.
That is the same principle of the european writing system, a similar alphbet for different languages. Spanish, English, German, French, etc, all use the same system.
Hope this helped.
