Why doesn't XP auto detect the 2nd hard drive. I checked bios and all is as it should be. From my computer on the desktop it is not there. How can I get it to detect the hard drive (#2)

Drive # 2 worked fine before re-formatting drive #1. Nothing was changed except for the re-formatting of drive #2

I assume you reinstalled XP on the primary drive. Then you either have a BIOS problem, your hard drive #2 jumpers aren't set properly, or you haven't cabled the hard drive properly.

i dont know a lot about this, but u may not have put the 2nd one on slave and 1st on master. you might need also to upgrade some drivers, or if none, install some. need to know how to do it? post another question.
